A Bird In The Hand

8x6" oil on canvas, SOLD

…is worth two in the…..SHRUB. Obviously not how the saying goes but in my home, my daughter insists that we not mention the word B_ _ _ . We have to insert the word shrub when we talk about our president. In fact she calls him “The Shrub”. She’s pretty disgusted with the whole political ball of wax in this country right now. And too young to vote. So I guess this is her own little personal protest. But, sometimes, when I’m naming a painting, there’s one very right title. And this one was an obvious choice. So I looked up the meaning of the phrase: “The things we already have are more valuable than the things we only hope to get.” Surely this doesn’t apply to The Shrub.
