Naked Jaybird

10x8" oil on canvas, SOLD

I've been wanting to do another painting with these "lollipop trees" for a while. I really like to play with scale and depth in a picture. I think it's more interesting than if it's "correct" and what you expect to see. Much more engaging . So I guess this whole picture falls into that category. I like this little guy and his long cast shadow on the purple landscape. And what's up with those birds....

Good Morning Brenda! I love recieving your current paintings. It creates a small thread of connection from your studio to mine. I love the purple ground and fading sky and his round left cheek. And who's naked...the little guy or the jaybirds?
I sent the previous delightful painting, Dandy Lion, to a little girl in Minnasota who's favorite flower is dandelions. I hope life is joyful for you! Hugs~Julia

Hi there, I just came across your site and I am so impressed. I've seen daily paintings before but yours are quite complex and larger than what I've typically seen as a daily work, wow. I love your colours also, I'll definatly be 'tuning' in to see more of your work. THanks for the inspiration. Mandy Saile
