Bird In The Bush

5x5" oil on canvas, PURCHASE HERE

I have several plum trees in my yard and this time of year they are just lovely. Covered with tiny pink flowers they look like something out of a fairy tale. But the pesky birds arrive in flocks and sit in the branches pulling the sweet pink flowers off and dropping them. They don’t eat them. Nope, they just pluck them off and spit them out. As with all things in nature there must be a reason for this that makes perfect sense. I really don’t think they sit around in their little bird meetings and think of ways to piss me off—there must be a reason. Guess I should have named this painting “Bird In The Naked Plum Tree.”
