Just a couple of weeks ago my daughter, Cameron, and I were on our college trip, looking at possible schools where she will spend the next four (fingers crossed) years. Jeez, this is what we/she has been working toward all these years and guess what? She's ready. And me? Well I've been so caught up in the flurry of applications, housing plans, dorm deposits, scholarships, travel plans, etc...that I think my head was buried in the sand. Not that I wasn't paying attention but I sure got sidetracked by the details and momentarily forgot that she really is leaving. Her home. Flying the nest, this one...and I couldn't be more proud.
Cameron, then and now. (Some things never change...)

What an absolutely beautiful (then and now) daughter you have, Brenda! And your sentiments are so well stated... Thanks for sharing your art and your insights. What a pleasure you are!

Awwww! She looks beautiful. I know just how you feel, boy howdy. Nicely said!
I agree, she's beautiful! A very elegant young lady. And you both have your best years ahead of you, she'll go off and try amazing new things and then bring her memories and experiences home to share. And I have no doubt she'll take you on some of her adventures too. I still love my Mum more everyday no matter how far apart we are :)
As for your work, brlliant! I love that fact that you turn your own feelings into paintings.
Thanks you guys! I can tell I'm going to need more than a little "propping up" in the next few months. Glad we're on the same schedule, Jenny and Bronle!
Amazing painting! Love how the bird has been set free but is still close to you... can't imagine how that must feel to let them go. My kids are still young and I can't bear them being out of my sight or ear! ;)
