This painting has been sitting, half-finished in my studio for about six months. Who knows why this happens? The thrill was gone... a rare occurrence for me. Once I start a painting I usually work on it until it is finished. Or if I'm painting a series I might have four or five going at the same time. But this little sucker has been taunting me from the corner of my studio for far too long. So I moved him. First to the top of a cabinet, then to my easel. And I just let it percolate until a tiny little inspiration bubbled up to the surface. And whadaya know? Sometimes it's just a matter of picking up the damn brush and getting to work.
