Color Blind And Featherbrained

8x6" oil on canvas, SOLD

Blinded by color is more like it, these days. I am a test subject in UCSD's Department of Psychology Synesthesia Studies. Yep, I'm a bona fide synesthete (and proud of it). So I've been going to the campus for experiments and tests--I think they are going to try to re-program my color/number connections while I am hypnotized. I have color-graphemic synesthesia; I perceive certain numbers as colors. Seriously--you can't make this stuff up!

Not sure what synesthesia is? There's a good lay person explanation on Wikipedia. I'm guessing that some of my artist friends out there are also synesthetes--true? Let me know. Definitely going on my resumé!

Uninvited Guests

30x24" oil on canvas, available on MY WEBSITE

This is a self-portrait. Yep, that's me with all the little people that keep me up nights, demanding to be painted. They are the Uninvited Guests. Some nights it's just a party in my head!

Charmed, I'm Sure

14x11" oil on canvas, SOLD

This is actually a practice piece for a very large self-portrait. I'm finding that not only have I had to wrangle big, red hair my whole life but now I 'm trying to tame it with paint. Some things never change. They just sprout a little silver.
