Welcome To Studio York

Me and Nellie, my studio manager, on the front porch of Studio York.

I have these great (original) ledges where I can store paintings until they find a new home.

This is my actual work space. It's never this clean!

That's me working on one of several paintings.

My precious studio!

The painters from Daily Painters Gallery are having an online studio tour today. So we are all posting photos of our studio/work space. I have an unfair advantage because my husband, Christopher, is an extraordinary photographer. It's what he does. And he's good at it! So between his serious skill and a whirlwind studio cleaning, my studio looks fabulous! Actually, I now have a dream studio for the first time ever. This little 500 square ft. cottage is in our backyard in the oldest part of San Diego, Mission Hills. The cottage was built in 1925 and we have made a point of maintaining the charm and sweet details of the original design. It's quirky, which suits me just fine. My daughter, Cameron, often joins me in the cottage and works on her own inspired creations while I paint. It's where we've had some of our most memorable chats. And Nellie, my studio manager, keeps me in line. She cruises in and out of my studio all day hoping for walks, treats or belly-rubs. She gets plenty of each. So this is where I spend most of my days, doing what I love most. I am so lucky!!
