Moonface

8x6" oil on canvas, SOLD

I love this guy. He sold right away at ArtWalk--paint still wet-ish. That happens sometimes and other times these guys can hang around in all the dark corners of my studio until I kick 'em out. Literally. This week I have started working on new pieces for a solo show in July at the San Diego Art Institute. Really different format for me--12x30" canvases, long and skinny. I'll start posting them soon for a little preview since July seems like a long way off (unless of course, you're trying to make 18 new, large format paintings...yikes!)

Oh, and if you have any questions for me about my process, my paintings or "what-the-heck is she thinking about when she's painting" feel free to leave them in a comment or email me. Next week I will post a FAQ page on this blog and would love to add your questions to my long list of all time favorite strange and curious questions about my art.

I wish you would comment on how you develop a style. Obviously your paintings are unique, but for the rest of us who are trying hard, how do you do it?

I read the part of your daughter going off to college and I sympathize. I justst drove my son off to summer school. The house is very quiet.

Hi there, this is one of the top five questions I get all the time. I will be very happy to answer this---please look for my FAQ page on this blog next week. And thanks for stopping by!

I hope you will consider teaching a workshop sometime. I guess my question is, would you?
Also, I notice that you work in oil paint and wonder why you use this medium instead of acrylics. Just curious; both types of paint are great of course. I LOVE your paintings!

Thank you, Sharilyn! I'm working on the FAQs this weekend and will post them early next week. I hope you'll stop by for the answers to your questions. Thanks so much!
