Little Distractions

20x16" oil on canvas, email me for purchase information

I've endured a whole day of not-so-little distractions. Jeez! Feeling like my brain is scrambled. In spite of jack-hammers on the street, right outside my studio window (Really. You can't make this stuff up.) I did make progress on sprucing up my website. I like to get my "house in order" before ArtWalk so my new visitors will actually pay more attention to my paintings than the fonts that don't match and the links that don't work. I try to move the website out of the way of my art. Take a peek at my new and improved-in-spite-of-the-jack-hammers website.

I will be showing this painting along with many new pieces at ArtWalk in Little Italy, April 30 and May 1. Drop by if you're in the neighborhood.

Wing And A Prayer

6x6" oil on canvas, SOLD

ArtWalk is right around the corner here in San Diego. April 30 and May 1. Such a fun weekend, filled to the brim with inspiring art and artists.

Every year I make a huge effort to be organized so there are no scary surprises and this year is no different. But the reality is I will be sliding in "on a wing and a prayer"--just like every other year hoping I have enough paintings and even more stamina to talk for two days straight.

If you're in San Diego come see me on Fir Street in Little Italy, booth #782. I'll be the one surrounded by colorful, wacky people.

Small Fry

8x6" oil on canvas, SOLD

Well, I'm back in the saddle after my big show, ArtWalk, over the weekend. It was so much fun and so much work! But really worth it. I had a blast with a couple of the other Featured Artists, Julia C. R. Gray and Stephanie Clair. We became fast friends as we made our appearances together on TV shows, radio interviews, media parties and standing on street corners at 5:30am painting by moonlight (don't ask). These two are a hoot! Oh, and extremely talented artists and kind and generous women. Check out their fabulous art.

And many thanks to all the wonderful folks that stopped by to tell me they read this blog, check my website, collect my paintings and appreciate my "bizarre" take on the human condition. Can't tell you how many times I answered the question, "So what are you thinking when you paint these people...?" Something I ponder--at least twice a day.

Bernie's Illusions Of Grandeur

10x8" oil on canvas

Some days are just like that...you're going along minding your own business and out of nowhere comes a Good News Bubble. That's what happened to me today. Besides finishing this funny little painting that I just love, it was announced that I was chosen as one of the Featured Artists for San Diego's ArtWalk 2008! Quite an honor to be one of 12 chosen out of 400 artists. I'm pretty darn excited. And now I've got to get busy and make some paintings!

And one more thing...Happy Birthday, Eve!
