The Princess And The Pink Barbie Bike

8x10" oil on canvas, PURCHASE INFORMATION

Maybe it’s because my daughter has been driving herself off to school almost everyday lately that I’m pining for the days of the Pink Barbie Bike. For her third birthday, Cameron got THE BIKE. Every square inch PINK and Barbie-fied (much to her feminist mother’s chagrin). She mastered that little bike in one day wearing a pink tutu, pink tights, pink shoes and a pink Barbie helmet. She was a vision. I stood by holding my breath as Cam got a taste of freedom and felt the wind in her face. Come to think of it, not much has changed.

Ah, its hard to let go sometimes! I miss those days - sometimes more than others! I love my kids at their current ages, but sometimes miss those moments of childhood! This is a great painting, btw!

Thanks, Helen. I think we've had this conversation more than once! Guess I tend to paint from my life more than I realize. Glad you stop by...
