FROM THE VAULT: Crybaby Mama

14x11" oil on canvas,

One of my mantras is "Control is an illusion." A concept that I've had to accept in some very chaotic periods in my life. So you'd think that on the little things I'd just bow down to the gods of chaos and let it all go. But no. Case in point: I am leaving tomorrow morning for a week-long driving trip up the coast of California with my daughter to visit colleges. (I'm a little puny at the thought of her going away to college...but that's for another day....). Anyway, I had scheduled down to the hour all my daily paintings and the blog posts and the uploads to Daily Painters Gallery and my website. On and on. The whole week was covered. I was all schrinched up with controlitis. But here's the deal: I just couldn't get it all done. It really was an illusion in the first place. So I'm letting it go. No paintings for a week or so...I'll be back on track mid-April. Stay tuned!

hey, like your stuff. It is so quirky and kind of original too. It is just amazing to see those figures grow and progress from one painting to another-even if they are small vs large. Check my stuff out sometime too if interested. Best of luck Brenda.
