Hot Diggity Dogg

10x8" oil on canvas, SOLD

Well, here we go...the dog days of summer are here. The end of summer. And my youngest pup is leaving for college on Thursday. Hmmm...I have prepared for this. Really, I have.  My living room is piled with her stuff to feather her new nest; her really soft blanket (that I'm not allowed to wash because it will lose it's smell of home), her John Lennon poster (she's an old hippie at heart), her red cowboy boots and endless bits of advice, warnings and encouragement. I've had so many moments of feeling certain that I've forgotten to teach her something of monumental importance. And then what will happen? Well, as she has assured me (several times) she will figure it out on her own. Wait a minute--does that mean I've just been given the pink slip?

Well, Cameron Eliza, follow your passion, spread your wings and keep your paws planted firmly on the ground. And don't forget to howl at the moon once in a while!

Brenda,
I love your work.. It always makes me smile! But this post choked me up a little.. I've been through it once and have three more to go.. ugh! Good luck to both you and Cameron Eliza on Thursday.. It sounds like she has good advice going with her!
