This is one of those paintings that just refused to be named. I struggled far too long to come up with the right name. Shouldn't be that hard...I mean, I keep a notebook of quirky words, funny phrases and overheard snippets of conversations. All at my fingertips when it comes time to "Name-That-Painting". And yet, some refuse a title without a bit of an arm-wrestle. So in the midst of my teeth-gnashing and head-banging, in walks the teenage daughter and in a complete and utter incognizant moment she mutters, "Oh. Earth mama." And so it goes....

Another re-visit to paintings past but this one is the perfect visual to go along with my link below. This is so cool...a few days ago I got an email from this guy Morgan in Northern Ireland. He wanted to tell me that his band, The Sons Of Robert Mitchum (great name!) wrote a song that references me and my art. I have no idea how they know of me or my paintings but I think it's a perfect example of our shrinking world, thanks to the internet. August 1 marks the first day of a month-long promotion on the Daily Painters Gallery. All 137 artists have made a commitment to paint images about conserving and celebrating Planet Earth. Yup, we're on the bandwagon! Pay attention Al Gore--amazing things can happen when artists go political! In theory, there could actually be 4,247 paintings posted by the end of August. In reality, it will probably be more like 2,500-3,000. Whew! That's a lot of tubes of green paint...
